Ladies Night!

A while ago my friend Rachael found a Groupon for a Hotel in DC and asked a bunch of girls if we wanted to have a little slumber party. Many of us gave her a resounding “yes!” and she booked it for November 30th. So last weekend, 7 of us (and that is a lot when it comes to busy moms all getting the same night off from all our responsibilities) made our way to the Washington Court Hotel as soon as the daddies came home to take over. Elise, Kira, and I took the metro and met up with Becky, Becca, and Sarah who had just arrived, and Rachael who had been there for a couple hours. It was a nice night. Not too cold, but chilly enough to feel festive and wintry. After dropping our stuff in our room, we took a nice little walk to Chinatown to eat at a restaurant Rachael suggested, Vapiano. It’s definitely a popular place and was wall-to-wall with mingling singles. We snagged a corner table as some people were leaving, and could actually hear each other back there. The food was fantastic, as was the company. Good choice, Rachael! 187194197198199201We walked back to the hotel where talked the night away while we did pedicures, face masks, personality tests, ate chocolate. played Farkle, and stayed up much later than all of our bedtimes. My eyes were begging to close around 11, but I got a second wind, and we all finally started snoozing around 1:30.203205225226230234I woke up before everyone else (around 5:45), as usual, but planned on taking advantage of the fitness center. I snuck out as quietly as I could, and enjoyed a good hour long work-out. Soon enough everyone was up and getting ready to head out. Most of us went to the Starbucks across the street (peppermint hot chocolate, mmm…) and sipped our drinks while we enjoyed the view of the awesome capitol building in the morning fog a few blocks away. DC is a beautiful place.328237238243246We walked a couple blocks to Union Station to get some breakfast. I found a great little crepe place. We hopped on our train, and headed back home feeling great about the fun night we had as friends. As tired as I was the next day, it was worth the great memories.  Thank again, Rachael! And thanks husbands who made it possible for us to have a night off! Who wants to plan the next sleepover?

It was a great night! Even better, I got home from a fun night with the girls and Rich was mopping the floor! (don't think that's ever happened before)...

Oh goodness sakes! I would've made 8 if only... It looks like you had a great time. I miss you.

I think my friends and I are long overdue for one of those. Too bad half of us are nursing mothers at the moment! Looks so fun. And necessary.
