These were the guests we were lucky enough to host a month or so ago. We worked, and played, and it was so sad to see them go. They came on a Monday night, and left on the following Friday morning, so we crammed a lot in those few days. Let’s recall:
They arrived around 8ish pm, so the kids were in bed (and I was snoozing on the couch) when they got here. It was fun to see the excitement of all the kids when they all woke up in the morning! Brady is such a crack-up. I couldn’t stop laughing at the kid!
Ally was a HUGE help the whole time, playing with the kids and keeping us laughing.
Just the regular things are more fun with funny little cousins around.
Of course we went to IKEA on Tuesday. the little ones all got dropped off at Samland.
So we older people enjoyed breakfast for $1. We also did some serious shopping for the house. Love having others there to bounce ideas off of, and help me make decisions.
The travelator is always a highlight.
We had to take them to at least one awesome park, so we chose Centennial. It was nice to have an overcast day, cause we pretty much had the place to ourselves. This place is usually PACKED.
Yeah, not sure this trick works anymore. They insisted. The first time we discovered the stage there. Who knew how much fun there was to be had there!
KC and I went furniture shopping! I didn’t want to leave the fun visitors, but we seriously never had time to do this, so we forced ourselves out with free, awesome babysitters. It was hard to resist this huge (hideous) chaise thing. The picture doesn’t do it justice.
We opted for the reservoir the next day. Amber does love a beach, or anything that resembles it. The kids all had a blast.
They found and abandoned tube and played with that thing forever.
That umbrella might be one of my most favorite things.
Sonic was calling our name on the way home.
We were exhausted, but pushed through it for a girls night. I took them to Ali Baba Grill, a favorite of mine. I could eat that food any time of the day or night. Then after some successful shopping, we went to the movies. Landmark Theater is the best. Free popcorn and drinks! We loved Now You See Me. It was fun to have Ally along.
In between all of that, Amber and I worked our little tails off getting my table and chairs done. She was an angel to help me. It would have taken me forever to do them alone, and she knew a lot more about the process than I did. What a sister!!
None of us were happy to see them go, but at least we are closer now and can visit a lot more often than before.
They were so great to come all that way to play with us! It’s a long drive, and we are lucky to have people willing to make it for us. Can’t wait to play again soon!
