That sounds like quite the adventure! I can't believe you got to have your own tent, but I'm sure that was better for everyone involved. It sounds like you did have fun after all. Shame on you for not singing the campfire songs (coming from someone who has led a few campfires as solos).
Sounds like a blast. Too bad we don't have any young women in our ward - I would love to go to girls camp. What is your calling? PS - what is YCL and PG?
I loved your synopsis of all the camp events. All your statements about the work, leaders, and complaining were so true. I love the slide show too. Great photos to remember fun and crazy times. I also feel much better after sleeping a really long time.
Oh girlscamp... I didn't even know you were going! But I can imagine if I were a girl in your ward, I would be excited, because of the fun times and sassiness you bring along. Did you get mad at them for staying up too late?
Great list-style recap. I am so glad you are back. Let's talk again, okay!? Do you still remember the whole Britney Spears dance?!
Cami- I also helped lead campfire songs throughout my camp day so I am sick of it. And the tent was borrowed from Matt so I didn't have to share with anyoneSar-YCL is youth camp leader, the older girls, and PG was the rating they gave me when KC came and we hugged and kissed. And my calling is actually in the Primary. They just asked me to be ward camp director since no YW leaders were going. It was stake camp though, so I wasn't in charge of everything.Nicolle-I'm not quite sure who you are. Someone from camp, but I need more info please.Lili- I was mad inside, but when I went to tell them to be quiet, I think I was pretty nice.Mel-Yes, I broke out my moves. They were laughing pretty hard.I think I answered all of you questions. I'll be happy to answer any more.
A nice report. You have some good insight there. When I used to go to boys camp, I have to change my frame of mind. Going to bed, I look around and instead of thinking "Is there a spider in here?!?!", I think "What KIND of spiders are in here...oh, just those? Cool." And the camp songs and stuff? I totally give in. I sing them with vigor. Here is my favorite. I'll show you the motions when I see you:Don't gimme no Popno popdon't gimme no teano teaJust gimme that MilkMoo Moo Moo MooJust gimme that MilkMoo Moo Moo Moo:)Goodtimes. Welcome back to the world.
PS, it's ok to hate going to GC. Cortnie refuses to go, over, for any reason.
Oh Nicole, my sister in law! Sorry I was confused. You've never commented before. Glad to know you are rested.
I read every word. You are so good at describing things and I loved all the details. Isn't it neat how much we can learn from any and every experience? Lately I go into things like that wondering what new things I'll end up knowing. I bet you were a really fun and good leader. Your own tent -- excellent. But I can't believe you didn't sing the old camp songs. That is NOT allowed.
Emily- I am finally commenting on your blog (a little late, I know). I am so proud of you for surviving girl's camp- you were so cute up there directing and bossing the girls around. Maybe next year, you will be in charge! Wouldn't that be great!
