I just want to record some of the happenings from when my dad was here. We tried to squeeze in a lot, with the great weather and all.
Mom brought us some of her old stamp collection, and I haven’t stopped hearing about them since! A perfect (supervised) activity for this age.
You have to get creative sometimes.
Marshmallow cream painting. Our stickiest medium yet.
Mom is so nice to let the kids hang on her bed whenever they want. Which is a lot.
Breakfast at the Annapolis Amish market. Why does everything they sell there there have to look so so mouthwatering? The ginormous chocolate chip pancakes we got were quite memorable.
We then dropped mom and dad off at their conference and went to, more like braved, the National Zoo. The kids actually did pretty well! The stroller didn’t last long, and neither did the leashes, but we had a public restroom potty success, and found free parking close by (as in like 1/2 mile), so anything else was just bonus.I see this face often. They would’ve playing in this mister all day if we let them.
Sunday Arboretum picnic. Menu included BLTs, Caprese, and club sandwiches, etc.. I might have had a little of each.Sporting my latest race shirt.
They still love one of our favorite play places from when they were babies. We were fans of anything fenced in. Problem now is, they can open the fence.
Don’t worry, we weren’t violating any laws. I was just running into a store.
Of course, we made our regular appearance at The Alamo.
Just thoroughly enjoying the weather at the park.
Bennett has what Elise calls a Sticker Virus, and it usually presents itself on his cheeks for days at a time. Sometimes the bottoms of our feet, or bums get infected as we find traces of the stickers all over the house. The kid is seriously obsessed.
While we’re talking about obsessions, this child would play with dirt 24-7. Wherever we are, he finds it, and comes away a dirty boy. I love it.
Same day, different park. More playing in the dirt.
There is a lot more where that came from since mom stayed to play longer, but I’ll save that for another post. We loved having Papa Steve hanging out with us!
