A preview of the wee ones.

The post including the whole story will take some time (and a little brain power that I don't seem to have right now), so in the meantime, I'll just show some more pictures of the darlings. All the tubes and things aren't as intimidating as they look. It's just basically food, a little help breathing, and monitors to make sure they are doing what they should. Everything that they'd expect from normal 30 week preemies!

I feel so bad that they don't have names yet. Like they're orphans or something. We're working on it, believe me! Here's the latest.

Boy A:
(Nana's finger)

Boy B:

Girl C:

(I got to hold her!)

Thank you everybody so much for the many congratulations! It's all so surreal. We feel incredibly blessed.

Looking at the pictures of your new bundles took me back 8 years ago when my little guy was born at 34.5 wks and spent his first 10 days of life in the NICU. He came into the world a pound more than yours. Today he is a healthy little boy!

The "seam" that was on his backside has filled out, he now has bum cheeks. The lanugo went away. He no longer looks like a little old man (we nicknamed him "Grampy") now that his face has filled in and he has teeth. It's amazing how fast these kids grow!

Thank God for modern technology! You are truly blessed and so deserving of these blessings. I know these three miracles will be so loved.

Congratulations!

Julie

PS Good luck with the names. =)

Emily, I am a longtime friend of Sharla's. I have followed your blog of and on for about 2 years now. I LOVE your recipes. Anyway, checked on you about 2 months ago to discover your desire had been fulfilled three times over!!! So happy to see you were able to get to 30 weeks. Quite the accomplishment! They are soooo tiny and absolutely beautiful.

Congratulations and best wishes on coming up with names. (We had one of ours home for 2 weeks till we finally came to a consensus. Another who's name was changed about 5 times in the week we got home, etc.) I understand the difficulty:) At the least, you get to choose more than one favorite name!

Congratulations!! That is so exciting and still so amazing to me that you and triplets!! Good luck! One blessing in disguise that we found with having a baby in the NICU was that we were able to get some rest before our little man came home. Hopefully you can do the same!
Can't wait to hear the names!

So miniature, but so perfect! I am glad you have such wonderful care from the hospital, and modern technology to help your sweet little ones on their way to big, healthy bodies. A, B, & C have been in our nightly prayers.

Wow. It's such a miracle. They look really good. I have to laugh at the eye shades, since Tom wears one whenever there's light while he's sleeping. I'm so proud of you Emily, you did it!
(I still can't believe you had to go through all the hard part of labor and now have to go through all the hard part of healing from a c-section. You're iron woman!) Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and a little sleep for you, sleep and strength for KC, and everything sweet A,B, and C need to get home to you quickly!

I can't believe all these little babies were inside of you! And such dark hair. I can't wait to get a good look at them, and in a few months hold them all in my arms!

You should post an actual picture of you holding them. I want to see the joy in your eyes!

Hi Emily. I must admit that I got a little teary eyed when I turned to your blog and saw pictures of the babies... and I don't even know you! But, I guess the fact that I feel so connected to your story truly means we are all brothers and sisters. Someone referred me to your blog because I am about to start my own IVF journey and am so excited that you have three beautiful babies. Congratulations!

I am SO happy that you got to hold her already! Wow. Well, welcome to the world of NICU. Make friends with the nurses and stake out a comfy chair as your own :) (I always liked the baby wires, I liked being able to glance up and see their numbers. Comforting.)
